Lufbery
Raoul Lufbery is depicted fighting German Albatros type DII machines late in 1916. Lufbery was the first American fighter ace, scoring his early victories while flying for France in the Lafayette. Some say that Americas first ace was also the highest scoring, as he often flew alone far behind German lines and seldom recieved confirmation of his victories. Oil on canvas.
